我们都不发觉，一年四季都有的橘子，其实是一种感情相当丰富的水果？──吃橘子，剥皮渗了满手泪，刀切流了一桌的血。没有一回，它不是默默的表达了一份伤痛。
一般人都不珍重橘子，它太寻常。長青的果树，不受节令，无所谓「当造」，欠了争分夺秒去享用的刺激。一度，因天气变坏，略为歉收，橘子价格高了些，但很快又回复本來的身份。
人们对橘子的认知，始自初生，甚至在母亲子宮內，已经在吸收丰富的维他命C。专家认为「橙色」可将人的食欲推至最高点，大家见到这顏色，联想到的，都是熟悉、安全、开胃、有益、甜蜜……。
习惯了橘子，像习惯了一朵美花，像习惯了一個愛人。一個人对一個人永恒不变的好，往往只换来双方的疲倦。大脑皮层的细胞，为了保护自己在新刺激到来时有能力应付，便抑制地不再行动，反正它都在了。
有沒有想过，红黄合体的鮮明，甜汁四溅的乐观，不是橘子真正性格？橘子的「骨子里」，內心深处难理解。在台湾它唤「柳丁」，又是柳又是仃，听来漂泊而寂寞。
橘子笑的時候，取悦大众的時候，免不了流血流泪。我想说：
「橘子不要哭。」 ──但这却是自然定律。
